Tasting Notes

The aromas on this wine consist of phenomenal peeled plum and black pepper. The wine immediately opens with flourishing fruit flavor and gains a silky texture as it spreads across the palate. Considering that this wine is on the younger side, the negative qualities that one would affiliate a younger wine to have are non-existent in this new vintage.

Winemakers Notes

The grapes were hand-picked at the peak of ripeness. The clusters were destemed but not crushed and whole berries were sent into an open top fermenter. They went through 3 days of cold soak before the inoculation. Gentle extraction of grape flavors, tannins, and color were attained by pumpover twice daily during fermentation. The wine was aged in 100% French oak for 22 months.
